How Much Does Somatic Therapy Cost?

Fees & Insurance

Online Psychotherapy

I offer ongoing weekly or biweekly online psychotherapy sessions in California for whatever duration best suits your unique goals. For those outside of CA, I provide coaching sessions. Whether you are interested in somatic psychotherapy, EMDR, or healing sexual trauma, I can help you.

My standard fee for a 50-minute therapy or coaching session is $200. It’s essential that everyone has access to quality, affordable therapy. Therefore, I offer a limited number of reduced fee slots for individuals experiencing financial hardship. As an alternative, I can provide the names of low-fee clinics in the San Francisco Bay Area.

I’m available for both afternoon and evening sessions from 2 pm until 9 pm. I would be honored to assist you in strengthening your sense of personal empowerment and unique creative expression. If you’d like to learn more, please message me or call 415.570.9409 to schedule a free phone consultation.

Coverage for Out-of-Network Therapy Services

Insurance and Payment Information

I do not take insurance. If your health insurance carrier allows you to choose an out-of-network provider, services may be covered in part or in full. Upon payment, I can provide you with a bill to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

To determine if you are eligible, please call your provider. Some important questions to ask include:

  • Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
  • What is my out-of-network deductible, and has it been met?
  • What is the coverage amount per session?
  • How many sessions are covered per calendar year?
  • Is primary care physician approval required?
  • Is a diagnostic code required?

Understanding Cost Estimates

Good Faith Estimate Notice

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.

Under the law, healthcare providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

You can ask your healthcare provider and any other provider you choose for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit cms.gov/nosurprises.
